Vitor Pereira revealed the extent of Hwang Hee-chan’s injury during his press conference on Friday, as Wolves prepare to face Liverpool.
Wolves secured a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, advancing into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a tie against Bournemouth on the cards.
There were plenty of positives for Vitor Pereira to digest post-match, including Marshall Munetsi’s debut however, there was also one negative.
Hwang Hee-chan suffered a hamstring injury in the first half and looked distraught coming off the pitch after playing well at Ewood Park.
The 29-year-old assisted Joao Gomes for his goal and was involved in the build-up for Wolves’ second as Matheus Cunha rifled his strike past Balazs Toth.
Now, Pereira has supplied an update on Hwang along with striker Jorgen Strand Larsen ahead of Wolves clash against Liverpool.

Vitor Pereira shares Hwang Hee-chan and Jorgen Srand Larsen injury updates
A hamstring injury can often be a cause for concern with Hwang suffering his fair share of injuries this season. But luckily, Pereira confirmed that isn’t serious and he’ll only miss the next two or three games.
“He’s got an injury and he’ll be out of the next games, maybe two or three games,” the Wolves manager said via the E&S. “It’s not serious, but it’s something.”
Pereira was also able to offer a fresh update on Jorgen Strand Larsen, who has been injured since the loss to Arsenal last month.
Last weekend, the 56-year-old was hopeful Strand Larsen would return as soon as possible and now, he’s set to complete his first training session and could be in the squad against Bournemouth.
“Jorgen will do his first training tomorrow (Saturday) with the team,” he said. ‘We cannot take risks with him (against Liverpool). I believe in the next game he will be on the list.”
What games will Hwang miss for Wolves?
Just as he was beginning to look promising in the win over Blackburn, it’s typical that Hwang suffered a setback and will now miss the next two to three games.
As it stands, the South Korean will be absent for trips to Liverpool and Bournemouth before potentially missing the home clash against Fulham on Tuesday, 25th February.

Hwang has just two goals in 17 league appearances this term but everyone knows what an invaluable weapon he can be. Hopefully, once he returns from his latest setback, the electric forward will be back to his lethal best.
