Vitor Pereira is eager to see Joao Gomes improve his game even further after the midfielder signed a new contract with Wolves.
It’s been a great week for Wolves, who returned from the international break on Tuesday with another vital win over West Ham United.
Jorgen Strand Larsen got the decisive goal in the 21st minute to send Wolves nine points clear of the relegation zone, with Saturday’s match against Ipswich Town presenting the opportunity to make that 12.

The crucial victory came just hours after the club announced star midfielder Joao Gomes has signed a new long-term deal.
Wolves signed Gomes in January 2023 and he has since grown into a quality Premier League operator and a Brazilian international.
Wolves have moved to secure his future at Molineux by tying him to a five-year deal until 2030, which includes an additional 12-month option held by the club.
However, Gomes is still young at just 24 and manager Vitor Pereira believes he can still improve the tactical and technical sides of his game.

Vitor Pereira wants Joao Gomes to improve at Wolves
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s massive clash with Ipswich, Pereira was asked how high Gomes’ potential can reach.
He replied: “He’s young, he’s shown humility, wants to learn, he wants to help.
“Tactically, he can improve, of course, also technically, but he has the spirit. For sure, he will have a fantastic career.”
Vitor Pereira delighted with new Gomes and Yerson Mosquera contracts
Gomes wasn’t the only talented player Wolves secured the future of for years to come this week, either, as centre-back Yerson Mosquera signed on the dotted line as well.
The Colombian has also penned a five-year deal with the option of a further season, staying at the club until at least 2030.
Sadly, Wolves fans haven’t seen Mosquera in action since September after he tore his ACL just five games into the season.
The 23-year-old’s recovery is going well ahead of a pre-season return and Pereira has commented on both the new deals signed this week.
He said: “They have the profile that I like. They are group players, they have the technical profile but most important for me, they are team workers, with very, very good energy.
“You can’t pass this energy around you if you don’t connect with good energy, it would be a problem. That’s why I like the players smiling because they do what they like to do in life.
“For that reason, we must come here smiling, connecting with each other, fighting to create team spirit, family and we are in conditions to compete with every team.”
