Wolves have secured their Premier League safety after beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford.
Pablo Sarabia scored the game’s only goal, after he came on as a substitute in the second-half.
Sarabia scored a brilliant free-kick for Wanderers, which was the only real moment of quality in the game.
But Vitor Pereira’s backline was very solid, with Santiago Bueno, Emmanuel Agbadou and Toti Gomes all impressing.
Wolves have done the double over United for the first time since the 1979/80 season, and have won five Premier League games in a row for the first time ever.
There is a feel-good factor about Wolves right now that hasn’t been felt for a long time, and Pereira really can do no wrong at the moment.
But there is one slightly negative aspect of the day, and it regards why Goncalo Guedes was not in the squad today against United.

Why Goncalo Guedes missed out on Wolves squad vs Man United

Guedes missed out for Wolves against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, and the same has happened today against United.
Pereira had said that Guedes and Tommy Doyle were left out as a tactical decision, essentially suggesting they had not shown enough in training to warrant being picked.
Today, Doyle did make the matchday squad, indicating there’s been a response from him.
But Guedes was left out again, and as per journalist Nathan Judah, the player has not shown the correct mentality.
Paraphrasing the Wolves manager, he wrote on X: “Gonçalo Guedes knows why he’s not included. He needs to be with the right spirit and mentality to help the team.
“I have a conversation with him, he knows.”
Guedes staying at Wolves feels increasingly unlikely
That’s now two matchday squads missed in a row for Guedes, despite being fit and available.
To be missing out, and for youngster Mateus Mane to be getting picked ahead of him is pretty damning for the Portuguese forward.
Guedes was surprisingly prominent for Wolves in the first half of the season.
But the minutes have dried up under Pereira, who may either be more demanding than his predecessor, or less tolerant of poor standards, or both.
But Guedes – who has been of interest to Villarreal this season – now seems more like to leave the club this summer.
To be left out of two matchday squads in a row, and with the manager talking about a mentality problem, the writing is surely on the wall.
