Vitor Pereira makes Mario Lemina transfer expectation clear as Wolves exit links are addressed

Wolves are still no closer to resolving the transfer saga ongoing between the Old Gold and Mario Lemina.

It was only a matter of weeks ago that Lemina was club captain at Molineux and considered one of Gary O’Neil’s most important players.

Fast forward to now and Wolves are open to Lemina leaving this month, with interest from Saudi Arabia noted.

Vitor Pereira’s former club Al-Shabab are admirers, as are Galatasaray, who want to reunite with Lemina following the midfielder’s loan spell.

Vitor Pereira comments on Mario Lemina transfer saga

Earlier this month, Pereira admitted that he doesn’t want to sell players in the winter market, which was interesting given Lemina’s situation.

That being said, it still appears likely that the 31-year-old will leave Molineux before February, with the Wolves manager’s latest comments suggesting such.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Old Gold’s trip to St James’ Park, Pereira explained what he’s expecting from Lemina at this time.

“It’s an issue he must solve with the club,” Pereira said to the media, as cited by journalist Liam Keen.

“We know what he wants and we now have to solve the issue. I expect him to be professional.”

Lemina looks set to leave Wolves

With his assessment of the situation, Pereira all but confirmed that Lemina will leave Wolves this month, following on from weeks of speculation.

It became apparent that Lemina wanted to leave Wolves at the start of the transfer window, as it was reported that the midfielder has a ‘desire to leave for a new challenge’.

The Old Gold are said to be eager to pocket £5m for his services, in what has been an unexpected turn of events for Lemina’s career at Molineux.

Pereira is pleading for his player to do the right thing and end the saga one way or another, in what will be a decisive week for the Gabon international.
