Vitor Pereira makes exciting claim about ‘very strong’ Wolves star ahead of Aston Villa clash

Wolves Premier League clash against rivals Aston Villa takes centre stage on Saturday evening at Molineux.

Wolves lost 1-0 against Arsenal last weekend to extend their losing streak to four matches as Joao Gomes’ red card cost them points.

Vitor Pereira will be without his tigerish midfielder for the visit of Aston Villa but he could start defender Toti Gomes, who returned to the squad on Saturday for the first time since injury.

To counteract their struggles in the league, Wolves are working hard to sign players in the transfer market, with Pereira wanting three more signings.

Currently, centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou has been their only capture so far but the Ivorian powerhouse has impressed in the heart of defence, with Pereira giving him his flowers.

Vitor Pereira shares exciting Emmanuel Agbadou claim

Agbadou was signed for £15m from Reims earlier this month to become an instant starter in the Wanderers depleted defence.

The 27-year-old has played in Wolves last four games in all competitions and was impressive against Arsenal as Dave Edwards was wowed by Agbadou’s performance.

More impressively, the Ivory Coast international has had to play on the left side of defence due to a lack of options when’s he better suited to the middle or right.

However, Pereira has still been very pleased with his impact and believes he can become even better once he’s able to play in the centre or on the right side of a back three.

“He’s a strong, strong, strong player,” Pereira said via the E&S. “He’s been with us for two or three weeks and he’s in the process of adapting to this league, but he’s very strong.

“He’s strong in the air, strong on the ground, strong in the duels. He’s playing on the left side and it’s difficult for him of course, but he was fantastic in my opinion. Playing in the middle or the right side will be better, for sure.”

Agbadou’s impressive start to life at Wolves in numbers

Agbadou endured a nervy debut against Newcastle but since then, he’s slotted into the back three like a glove alongside Santi Bueno and Matt Doherty.

With Toti soon to return on the left, Agbadou’s slight tweak in role can get even better displays out of him, which is frightening considering the statistics he’s amassed.

If he can maintain those performances, adding Wolves’ prime target Kevin Danso alongside him would improve their defence massively.
