Vitor Pereira lifts lid on his Wolves feelings after pointless Premier League start

Fosun are adamant that Vitor Pereira is still the man to lead Wolves forward, despite not picking up any Premier League points.

The contract renewal for the head coach was a clear sign of the ownership’s confidence in the Portuguese, but Wolves fans are less than happy with the board.

The timing of the decision was no doubt questionable, and the Old Gold faithful have made their thoughts known.

The outside noise is quickly beginning to bubble following Wolves’ 3-1 defeat to Leeds, and tensions around Molineux are reaching a high point.

It seems that the club are quickly sleepwalking their way into relegation, and there have been no signs of a turnaround in form.

Speaking after the recent loss, Vitor Pereira has opened up on the outside noise and if that is affecting his feelings about his role.

Vitor Pereira is still confident about his role as Wolves head coach and insists that their form can turn around with one good result.

The head coach was speaking to Wolves’ official website and was asked about the five consecutive losses.

Pereira said, “The pressure is the pressure that I put in myself, not the pressure of other people. I’m the kind of manager that focuses on what I can control. Of course, I want to win games.

“It’s the first time in my career one of my teams has lost five games [in a row] – I don’t remember something like this. But I’m resilient.

“I know that we can turn this situation around with a win. I know that the supporters love the team, they love the club, and they want wins, and that is what I want also, and I know what they are feeling, because I’m feeling it too.”

While Vitor Pereira is confident of turning things around, Jorgen Strand Larsen has said who he blames for their poor form.

A Wolves win against Tottenham can be a catalyst for Vitor Pereira

Getting a win against Tottenham Hotspur will be incredibly difficult, and it is likely Wolves’ second hardest fixture so far, behind Manchester City.

Thomas Frank’s side have secured ten points from a possible 15, and they boast a lot of attacking talent.

However, if Vitor Pereira can manage to get all three points against the Lilywhites, that could be the definitive turning point for the Old Gold.

Following the away trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Wolves host Brighton at home, followed by two matches against relegation rivals Sunderland and Burnley.

If their form has turned a corner by the time they travel to Sunderland, then the season might be saved yet. Six points against two relegation rivals would be a fantastic return.

However, as things stand, that is not looking likely.

Before they face Tottenham, Wolves have the task of trying to get past Everton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night at 7:45pm.
