Wolves have endured a really tough start in the Premier League, but have improved in the last few weeks.
Currently, Wanderers remain bottom of the table.
Wolves are still yet to win a game so far, but have come so close in the last two matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton.
Late equalisers from Joao Palhinha and Jan Paul van Hecke have seen Wolves drop four points, meaning it’s just two points taken from the first seven games.
That is frustrating, but Pereira has been enthused by what he’s seen.
Pereira issued a rallying cry to fans on social media on Sunday – and now the Wolves manager has delivered a positive assessment of his squad.
Vitor Pereira talks up his Wolves players’ personalities

Wolves have turned in some really poor performances this season, but most of those came early on in the campaign.
For the last few weeks, Wolves have been much improved having started to play with a back four a bit more.
Wolves fans have urged Pereira to now scrap the back five system entirely, and solely use a back four as arguably that is the formation the team has looked most comfortable in.
We’ll see how Pereira proceeds, but the Portuguese is definitely feeling encouraged by what he’s seen from his players recently.
And ahead of the big game with Sunderland this weekend, Pereira has revealed he’s realised his players have strong personalities, and they know what he’s demanding of them.
He said: “We cannot lose our direction. We know what we need to improve, we know the way and this is the confidence we have in our work.
“I’m realising the personalities of the players and they have good personalities, good players, who are trying to adapt to a different league.
“To feel confidence inside of me, I need to control the situation.
“It’s not to be on the lottery, not to there and see. Now, I’ve started to feel this confidence.
“I’m starting to understand that my players know what we are demanding. They know what to do and we can do better and better, for sure.
“But this is the confidence I need to feel inside of me, to give the confidence to my players.”
Wolves must turn performances into points
It is encouraging to hear that confidence is on the rise at Wolves, and it really ought to be.
The performances in the last three games have definitely been much better, and the defence looks so much more assured following the establishment of Ladislav Krejci and Santiago Bueno as a pairing in a four.
But Wolves still only have two points on the board.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
15 | 7 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 7 | 11 | -4 | 8 | |
16 | 7 | 2 | 1 | 4 | 9 | 12 | -3 | 7 | |
17 | 7 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 5 | 12 | -7 | 5 | |
18 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 7 | 15 | -8 | 4 | |
19 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 6 | 16 | -10 | 4 | |
20 | 7 | 0 | 2 | 5 | 5 | 14 | -9 | 2 |
It is now time to turn these performances into maximum points.
Wolves have got to see games out, and Hugo Bueno has called for Wolves to be more attacking rather than sitting back and inviting pressure.
Many will agree with that, and hopefully we’ll see that against Sunderland this weekend.
