Vitor Pereira confirms quadruple Wolves injury blow with four ruled out for Fulham clash

Vitor Pereira shed light on Wolves’ team news ahead of the Old Gold’s Premier League clash with Fulham.

After Wolves beat Bournemouth 1-0 to move away from the bottom three, Vitor Pereira immediately started preparing for the next challenge.

On Tuesday night, the Old Gold welcome Fulham to Molineux in an opportunity to build on the impressive win over the Cherries.

Wolves beat Fulham 4-1 in the return fixture however, one player who contributed against Marco Silva’s side last time out will be missing from the mid-week contest.

Vitor Pereira shares Wolves injury update

Unfortunately, Pereira did not have good news on the injury front ahead of Wolves hosting Fulham.

In his pre-match press conference, the Wolves manager confirmed that four players are out of contention due to injury, providing an update.

When asked about Rodrigo Gomes, Hwang Hee-chan and Emmanuel Agbadou, Pereira confirmed that the trio are ‘working’, but will be unavailable for selection.

“They are working to recover but they are out of the game,” the boss confirmed to the media.

There was more concerning news as the manager turned his attention to Goncalo Guedes, where it was revealed that the forward is still struggling with knee pain.

Pereira admitted that he ‘didn’t know’ how long Guedes could be out for, revealing that the 28-year-old underwent a scan.

“I don’t know. I think he went for an MRI in the morning, we will see. He has pain on the knee, it’s difficult to return for the game.”

Guedes was missing from Wolves’ squad against Bournemouth and looks set for some time on the sidelines, with the club waiting to learn the results of the Portuguese forward’s scan.

It’s a blow for the Old Gold considering that fellow attacker Hwang is also unavailable, leaving Pereira with limited options going forward once more.

Wolves head-to-head vs Fulham

Pereira won’t want to dwell on what he doesn’t have available but will be focused on what he can do with his squad on Tuesday night.

The upcoming meeting between the two clubs represents the 100th occasion that the teams have met competitively, with Wolves boasting the better head-to-head record.

Games: 99
Wolves wins: 47
Fulham wins: 27
Draws: 25

A win for Wolves on Tuesday could see the Old Gold move even further away from relegation, representing a remarkable turnaround of fortune since Pereira’s arrival.

Fulham won’t be easy to beat, however, as Silva’s side sit 17 points ahead of Wolves in the table, making the meeting one to watch with room for the Midlands club to do the double over the Cottagers.
