Vitor Pereira addressed the media on Friday afternoon and one topic of discussion was Wolves lack of transfer activity.
It’s been a frustrating January transfer window at Wolves, who have made just one signing – the £15m purchase of Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims.
After capturing Agbadou, Vitor Pereira wanted three more players but just a couple of days out from the window shutting, Wolves are no closer to further additions.
Pereira has appeared to put his eggs all in one basket by pursuing a move for RC Lens defender Kevin Danso.
However, despite being genuine contenders in the race, it’s looking like Danso could join Juventus on loan, snubbing Wolves in favour of Champions League football.
Danso’s reluctance to join a sinking ship perhaps sums up their season as a whole, with Pereira now sharing an update on their current state of play.

Vitor Pereira demands Wolves ‘increase the level’ in the transfer window
For years now, Wolves have been guilty of asset stripping and being cautious with spending money in the window, even when investment is needed.
Gary O’Neil criticised Wolves’ transfer policy during his time at the club and new manager Pereira appears to be encountering similar issues.
When asked about whether they’re close to signing a centre-back, Pereira said the priorities remain the same. The Portuguese boss wants a defender and a midfielder before the deadline, demanding Fosun to ‘increase the level’.
“Our priority is the same, midfielder and centre-back. The club is working on it. The club knows we need to increase the level,” Pereira said as relayed by journalist Liam Keen.
The end line is Pereira perhaps aiming a subtle dig at Fosun, as he needs the owner now more than ever to pull his finger out and spend some money.
However, going off past experiences with the ownership at Wolves, scampering around for last-minute deals on deadline day is looking likely.
More fan unrest expected in Wolves vs Aston Villa
Wolves aimed their frustrations at Fosun in their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend.
“Back the team, or sell the club,” frustrated supporters inside Molineux chanted, something that can’t be argued.
With Wolves hosting Aston Villa on Saturday evening in front of the Sky cameras, more unrest from the fans can be expected, with a hostile atmosphere breaking out from the stands.

And whilst boos and negative chants don’t help the players, supporters can hardly be blamed for directing their anger towards Jeff Shi and Fosun.
The duo are solely responsible for the club’s downfall and failure to resolve their issues in the dying embers of this window could result in relegation.
