Vitor Pereira has admitted he regrets making comments in an earlier press conference that may have affected his players.
Wolves have had a terrible start to the season and sit at the bottom of the league, a scenario few fans expected after just five matches.

Darren Bent has criticised Wolves’ transfer model, arguing the owners’ strategy of buying young players, developing them, and selling them for profit is unsustainable.
It was reported that the club was ready to change their transfer approach after struggles in the Premier League last season, but ultimately Fosun resorted to their old methods.
While Pereira has made some good choices this season, he admits he made a mistake with his previous press conference comments.
Vitor Pereira admits asking for time for players was a mistake
This season has been highly transitional for Wolves, with several high-profile departures and multiple new players coming in from abroad.
However, this does not excuse the Old Gold’s poor start, as many newly promoted teams have also gone through periods of change but are excelling in the league.
In a previous interview, Pereira spoke about the need for time for his players to adjust.
As reported by the Express & Star, he now acknowledges that he was wrong, as in this league, you must deliver results quickly.
He said: “We don’t have time in this league, we need to perform, we need to get results, confidence, and play at the level they are able to.
“There’s no excuses, now it’s time to prove, it’s not time to look for excuses. Maybe my speech was wrong and I realised I cannot keep saying it.”
Wolves players also need to take responsibility
Pereira has taken responsibility for his side’s poor start, but now the players need to step up and deliver as well.
While they frequently take to social media to apologise to supporters, true accountability comes from performing on the pitch.
On too many occasions this season, Wolves have been outfought and outrun, with opponents bullying them even at home.
It is now time for the players to follow Pereira’s example, admit their poor start, and put in the work on the training pitch to put it right.
The Old Gold players risk earning a reputation for throwing their manager under the bus unless their performances improve rapidly.
