Wolves are growing anxious over the future of Matheus Cunha as the player’s contract talks have stalled.
Wolves are confident that Cunha will sign a new deal however, the Brazilian still hasn’t put pen to paper.
Many clubs are interested in Cunha, who is one of Vitor Pereira’s shining lights and a constant source of joy for Wolves fans to watch.
While the Old Gold will be desperate for the forward to stay at Molineux for many years, there’s a growing feeling that the 25-year-old will soon venture elsewhere.

Vitor Pereira reacts to Matheus Cunha transfer speculation
Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Cunha’s contract, informing fans that despite the verbal agreement, there are still some hurdles to clear.
Given that several clubs from the Premier League ‘big six’ admire Cunha, there’s some concern that Wolves could lose the Brazil international sooner than anticipated.
Such scenario would require a remarkable bid to come in over the remaining two weeks of the winter market, with Cunha surely set to remain at Molineux until at least the end of 2024/25.
That being said, Wolves are not numb to the fact that their prized forward is generating transfer interest, with Pereira the latest to comment on his player’s future.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Old Gold’s clash with Chelsea, the Wolves manager admitted he’d be ‘happy’ if Cunha signed for a ‘big club’ one day.
“If in the future he [Cunha] goes to a big club, I will be happy for him,” Pereira explained.
“For sure because I like it if one of my players is one of the best players in the game, I’m very happy. He’s quality and the quality of work [he does].”
Pereira expressed his delight over Cunha’s contribution at Wolves, echoing Gary O’Neil’s beliefs about the player’s future.
O’Neil suggested that Cunha’s Wolves exit is inevitable due to his form but for now, those in the West Midlands will enjoy watching the forward in action.
Pereira describes Cunha as the ‘perfect’ player
Pereira, like every manager who has coached Cunha, is impressed by what he’s seeing from the Brazilian.
The boss was sure to applaud his player to Sky Sports during his interview, describing the former Atletico Madrid star as the ‘perfect player’.

“He is perfect, he’s the perfect player. He’s a player if he receives the ball in the right zones, he can decide the game.
“He’s fast with the ball, he’s unpredictable, he can create something special, he can score goals. He has everything that we need.”
Newly returning from suspension and a knock, Cunha will be eager to get back firing for Wolves, having already contributed to 14 Premier League goals this season.
