Vitinha may well go down as one of Wolves’ biggest transfer mistakes.
The Portuguese midfielder has been nothing short of exceptional for PSG and has quickly transformed into one of the best in his position in the world of football.
After his time for the Old Gold, there would have been very few who predicted his career trajectory.
His loan spell at Molineux was not a success, and it resulted in the club deciding against signing him permanently.
That would turn out to be an error, as the midfielder most recently came third in the Ballon d’Or, showing just how good a player he has become.
And now, those regrets of not signing him are sure to be even greater after what Vitinha has just done in the Champions League.
Vitinha scores first career hat-trick against Tottenham

Champions League action was in full flow on Wednesday night, and Wolves fans would have been groaning after seeing what Vitinha achieved for PSG.
The Portuguese midfielder started for the current European Cup holders in what was an eight-goal thriller against Tottenham Hotspur.
Vitinha scored three of PSG’s goals as they ran out as 5-3 winners, and it gave the midfielder a milestone he will never forget.
The goals marked the first time the 25-year-old has ever scored a hat-trick in professional football, and the fact it came against English opposition only makes matters worse for Wolves.
The performance shows that the former loanee did have the talent to play against some of the Premier League’s top sides.
And it is not the first time he has proved it. In PSG’s Champions League winning run, Vitinha produced an exceptional display against Liverpool.
Nuno really dropped the ball…
Wolves could now make the same mistake with Fer Lopez
Rumours of Fer Lopez already leaving Wolves have been popping up, and you cannot help but feel that if he is let go, it would be akin to the Vitinha situation.
And that is a scenario Wolves fans are already starting to fear.
Does Fer Lopez deserve more minutes for Wolves?
The 21-year-old is still young, and he has yet to be given a proper chance in the starting XI this season. His qualities can offer the Old Gold what they need: a creative outlet.
Rob Edwards must give Lopez more minutes, or else we could be looking back in a few years and wondering, ‘What if?’ as we do now with Vitinha.
