Wolves have poked fun at Gabby Agbonlahor on TikTok, after he said earlier this season that Wanderers were his bankers to get relegated.

Wolves secured their safety earlier this month. The club beat win Agbonlahor’s old club Aston Villa 1-0. A day later, Leicester City then lost to Fulham.

It has been a rollercoaster season for Wolves.

Wanderers were absolutely atrocious before Julen Lopetegui arrived just before the World Cup.

The Spaniard steadied the ship, adopting a pragmatic approach in order to get the points needed.

The football has not been particularly exciting. But he’s made Wolves more organised, and competitive.

He played a big part in Wolves’ transfer business in January, and deserves credit for green-lighting the signings of Craig Dawson and Mario Lemina etc.

Wolves were truly in shambles before the World Cup.

In early October, Chelsea thrashed Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. And that prompted Agbonlahor to state that Wanderers were his ‘bankers’ to go down.

Wolves have now taken aim at Agbonlahor for his comments with a brilliant TikTok video.

Wolves were playing terribly at the time, admittedly.

But Agbonlahor’s prediction always felt a bit ridiculous. And now Wolves have taken great pleasure in mocking the talkSPORT pundit on TikTok.

Don’t ask Gabby for the lottery numbers 🔼😬

They’ve taken the clip of him talking about Wolves as being bankers to go down.

The social media team have done a sterling job with the editing, playing clips of Diego Costa and Adama Traore scoring goals while Agbonlahor is talking about them negatively.

Agbonlahor said Daniel Podence couldn’t score if there was a mannequin in goal. They then play the absolutely perfect clip of Podence scoring against Nottingham Forest, after which he puts his fingers in his ears.
