Video: Matheus Nunes walks unaided after limping off for Wolves against Chelsea

Wolves yesterday beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Premier League to go four points clear of the relegation zone.

Wanderers put in one of their best displays at Molineux to ruin Frank Lampard’s return as manager of the Blues.

And it was Matheus Nunes’ sublime goal which was the difference between the two teams.

Just after the half hour mark, Daniel Podence’s cross came through to the Portuguese at the back post, and he unleashed a fierce drive into the top corner.

It was a stunning goal, with the ball coming through to him at pace and on the angle.

Wolves were able to keep solid at the back in the second-half and protect Jose Sa really well.

In the end, Wolves might have won by more. But the three points was the most important thing, and a couple more of those in the coming weeks might just be enough for ensure safety.

Towards the end of yesterday’s game, goalscorer Nunes limped off the pitch. He had to be propped up by two of Wolves’ medical staff.

That was cause for concern and led to speculation he might have done something bad.

But after the game, Express & Star journalist Nathan Judah uploaded a video on Twitter of Nunes walking unaided and without any kind of limp. He did not seem in much discomfort as he used his mobile phone.

Lopetegui said that the player will be assessed on Monday.

It was a worrying sight to see Nunes have to be helped off the pitch against Chelsea.

But this footage does seemingly suggest he is fine, and hopefully there will be official word from the club very soon.

He looked liked the world-class player Wolves thought they had brought in from Sporting CP last summer.

If he can turn in seven more performances like that, Wolves are surely not going to have any worries about relegation.
