Wolves’ final signing of the summer Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has participated in his first training session with the club, following his move from Strasbourg.
Bellegarde signed for the club on transfer deadline day, for a reported £12.8 million fee.
Bellegarde was the sixth signing of the summer for Wolves, and is effectively a replacement for Matheus Nunes.
He has even taken Nunes’ old number 27 shirt.
Bellegarde’s move to Wolves came about quite quickly.
Wolves officials actually went over to Strasbourg to conduct the player’s medical, in scenes that mirrored the club’s swoop for Boubacar Traore.
Earlier today, Wolves released footage of Bellegarde in action in training for the first time…
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde looks great in first training session with Wolves
Wolves have released a video on the club’s official YouTube channel of Bellegarde’s first day at Compton Park.
After completing his move in France, Bellegarde was finally able to train on Tuesday.
It is an interesting video. The first part is him arriving and meeting some of the squad.
And then the second half follows Bellegarde actually training. And it has to be said – he looks very good from these clips.
Of course, this video has been edited.
But Bellegarde shows some very nice touches in one possession drill. You can hear people complimenting him when showing footwork.
Bellegarde also grabs a couple of goals in another possession drill with a finishing element.
Good early signs over Bellegarde
Wolves fans are likely to be pleased seeing this video footage of Bellegarde.
It’s only training, but the new signing looks very sharp and appears to have very quick feet and decision making.
Losing Nunes has the potential to be a big blow for Wolves.

As inconsistent as he was, he was an amazing and unique player.
But Bellegarde is seemingly someone with a similar type of game.
Wanderers fans will certainly be hoping he can do the number 27 shirt much more justice than the last occupant.
