Wolves fans aren’t satisfied with the latest transfer news emerging from the West Midlands.
Matheus Cunha’s exit to Manchester United was expected for some time, but the departure of Rayan Ait-Nouri hurt just a little more.
Ait-Nouri signed for Manchester City to complete a move in time for the Club World Cup, leaving Vitor Pereira with a challenge on his hands to replace him.
After the deal was announced, Ait-Nouri penned a touching goodbye message to Wolves that had fans reminiscing on the good times.
Though supporters were sad to see the Algerian go, the fanbase have had to dust themselves off quickly in preparation for another exit.

Wolves fans react to Chem Campbell transfer exit
It’s been confirmed that Wolves have let go of academy product Chem Campbell on a permanent basis.
The 22-year-old, who last played for Wolves’ first team in November 2022, has joined League One side Stevenage after spending the 2024/25 season on loan at Reading.
Journalist Liam Keen revealed that Campbell’s exit will include a 30% sell-on clause, a factor that fans reacted to on social media.
“Utterly pointless deal, he’s not going to sell for anything significant in the future so a sell on does nothing for us,” one supporter said on X.
Another shared a similar opinion, “He has a year left and we would rather give away for a free with a small sell on rather than sell for say 750k – 1 mil and a sell on clause!”
One supporter was disappointed with the transfer news for another reason, making a claim that Campbell deserves to play at a higher level.
“Seems an anti climax. Should be Championship level.”
The disappointment regarding the transfer then shifted to another subject, as plenty of fans made the same point about Wolves’ academy.
“Just shows how poorly our academy/loan structure is run.”
“Really hope the hierarchy look at our youth setup. The manager and coaches just not good enough,” another said.
Pereira is doing what he can to support Wolves’ academy, but it’s clear just how much the manager will have to do given the lack of success with those coming through over the years.
“Our academy really is poor,” a fan said, which is fair considering the lack of minutes Wolves have given to academy products.
“Best academy graduate since MGW and we lose him on a free to a mid-League 1 team,” a supporter said, then echoing their opinion of the transfer with another post on X.
“Good luck to the kid. Really, really need to start placing more of a focus though on our academy output. Chem is one of the brightest prospects we’ve had since MGW, and the reality is he’s now left for League 1 on a free. Underwhelming.”
Another supporter joined the discussion, blasting the academy as ‘pointless’ when assisting players to senior-level success.
“Our academy is pointless and whoever organises their loans is useless as well.”
Campbell’s record at Wolves
It’s no surprise that Campbell is leaving, having only played 172 minutes of senior football at Wolves since he was promoted to the first team in 2022.
The forward has since embarked on four loan spells, with two stints at Wycombe Wanderers as well as time at Charlton and Reading.

What is frustrating is the talent that Campbell was showing so early into his journey in Wolves’ academy, leading to him leaving to sign for a League One side for a minimal fee.
With Mateus Mane appreciated by Pereira, there’s hope that the outlook of academy success changes in the West Midlands promptly.
