Two Wolves players make WhoScored's Team of the Month for October

Wolves have enjoyed a fine start to the new Premier League season, and currently sit fifth in the table after seven matches with a haul of 13 points.

At present, the club are only three points behind leaders Liverpool and the last game against Crystal Palace was highly encouraging.

The 2-0 win was undoubtedly Wolves’ best showing of the season, and Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping for more of the same going forwards.

Wolves picked up 10 of their 13 points in October so it was a pretty strong month, with the defence particularly solid.

There have been some really good individual showings in recent weeks, and two players have actually made it into highly respected statistics website WhoScored’s Team of the Month for October.

Nelson Semedo and Pedro Neto join, Karl Darlow, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, James Rodriguez, Bruno Fernandes, Heung-min Son, Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins in the side as the site’s best XI for last month.

Semedo has been improving week on week since his summer move from Barcelona, with his showing against Palace his best to date.

£50,000-a-week star Neto (Spotrac) has arguably been the pack’s brightest spark since the start of the season, and looks in great shape to perhaps make more of these Teams of the Month in the future.

WhoScored have their ways in which ratings are constructed but one wonders if there could actually be more Wolves players in this particular team.

Chelsea’s improvement at the back has been clear to see, but Max Kilman and/or Conor Coady can surely count themselves a bit unlucky.

Wolves have been superb defensively this term and conceded just one goal last month, but at least there is a couple in there in Semedo and Neto which is good to see.
