Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies believes Wolves have some ‘world-class players’, after his side ran out 1-0 winners in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Wales international featured for the hosts, who won 1-0 thanks to a Harry Kane header.
Wolves put in a positive performance in north London, and were especially good in the first-half.
But Bruno Lage’s side could not find a way though, and calls for a new striker continue.
It was another frustrating one to take for Wolves fans.
Wolves were scintillating to watch at times.
But there is a very concerning lack of a cutting edge once the ball gets into the final third.
Hopefully with the addition of a new centre-forward, the goalscoring issues will be no more.
Wolves certainly came in for a lot of praise after Saturday’s performance.
Both Harry Kane and Antonio Conte had kind words to say about Wanderers.
And now £60,000-a-week star Davies has also complimented Wolves. He said: “They have a lot of quality and have spent a lot on some world-class players and they made it tough for us.
“Second-half I thought we were much better though and I thought we deserved to win.”
Wolves’ quality on the ball is there for all to see, there’s just one thing missing
So that’s Davies now praising Wolves after Kane and Conte.
It’s clear the team made a big impression on Saturday, but obviously Wolves really need to now start taking points.
The arrival of a new quality striker should help with that.
The team has created some great chances in these first few games that perhaps would have been buried by a proper number nine.
The defence and midfield are both now packed with quality – it’s just about adding that final missing ingredient.
