Toti Gomes explains what Wolves players are loving about winter break in Abu Dhabi

Wolves are enjoying a much-needed break now in Abu Dhabi which Toti Gomes has admitted he’s enjoying a lot.

The trip to Abu Dhabi isn’t really a break with the purpose being for a warm weather training camp to give the players something new while keeping fitness levels.

Wolves would probably have rather not had this break given the immaculate run of form that has preceded this.

Three consecutive wins for Wolves – including the trashing of Everton – in the Premier League means the break probably came at the wrong time for the team as it runs the risk of ruining momentum.

Speaking while in Abu Dhabi, Toti Gomes doesn’t seem to mind too much instead speaking of how much he and the squad are enjoying the trip.

Toti Gomes raves about Abu Dhabi trip

Speaking with club media, Gomes has spoken about the trip to Abu Dhabi which Wolves are currently on.

“We have time to work and time to enjoy ourselves. It’s good that the gaffer gave us time to enjoy ourselves. Of course, me and the guys will spend time together and organise things to learn more about the area. Dubai is not far, so we can go there and enjoy it together.

“There is so much, we need to enjoy it and for sure we’ll have to do the most activities we can.”

Continuing, Gomes then lauded Gary O’Neil for how he’s treated the players on the trip, allowing them plenty of time to bond as a group outside of training.

“It’s a really good schedule, we said thank you to the gaffer because we train in the mornings and then have the rest of the days to go out and enjoy. We need to report at night, but I think everybody will respect the schedule and we can work together.”

This trip will be huge for Gary O’Neil and Wolves

Since O’Neil arrived just days before the season began, this will be the first time he’s got a chance to spend time with and bond with his players off the pitch and the training ground.

It’ll allow the squad and manager to forge a deeper understanding beyond just football which should be a massive bonus for Wolves throughout the remainder of this campaign.

So while the trip hasn’t come at an ideal time for Wolves, it definitely is worth risking momentum dying as a united and happy squad could easily kickstart that again.
