Matt Hobbs set for talks over a new role just weeks after leaving his Wolves position

Wolves have experienced interest in their employees and former staff members from Saudi Arabia, as previously seen in Rúben Neves signing for Al-Hilal.

Saudi Arabia has become a destination for many of those involved in football over the past few seasons, from those on the pitch and the touchline to those involved behind the scenes.

This interest comes as the Middle Eastern country wishes to become one of the leading nations in the sport as we edge closer to the 2034 World Cup.

Now the top Saudi clubs are going after another former staff member who had a significant impact during his time at Wolves.

Former Wolves sporting director is of interest to top clubs in Saudi Arabia

Matt Hobbs, the former Wolves sporting director, is of interest to clubs in Saudi Arabia for a role, according to the Mirror.

He spent a decade at Molineux doing a variety of roles during his time at the club before becoming sporting director in November 2022.

The 45-year-old left his role at the club by mutual consent earlier this month.

Hobbs was at the helm for a number of important signings as he presided over deals for Matheus Cunha and the £15 million swoop for Joao Gomes.

Wolves are in talks with Domenico Teti to become the club’s technical director

As highlighted by Johnny Phillips, Vitor Pereira wants to ‘maximise his own relationships within global football’ to accelerate their chances of enjoying a successful transfer window.

Now, BBC Sport have reported that Wolves are in talks with former Sampdoria technical director Domenico Teti about taking a top position at the club.

Teti has emerged as a serious candidate for the role after previously working alongside Pereira during his time at Al Shabab.

It is said that ‘discussions are underway’ and are understood to be ‘progressing positively’, with Wolves yet to strike a full agreement.

A deal is subject to a successful visa application, which is reportedly ‘close’.

With the Italian possibly arriving swiftly, Hobbs has been pushed ever closer to the exit door, in what is going to be the start of a new era at Molineux.
