Fosun have not received a lot of praise from Wolves fans over the years, but former Premier League manager Tony Pulis believes they made a ‘common sense’ decision recently.
The reputation of Wolves’ ownership has been hitting major lows as of late. In their game against Leeds United, fans chanted for Fosun to sell the club.
This comes after Jeff Shi said he felt the Old Gold had a good summer, but in reality the lack of quality and proven players in English football has left them last in the Premier League.
Shi has said that getting back into Europe is Wolves’ goal, but as things stand, they may have to look towards getting back into England’s top flight.
Now, Tony Pulis has delivered a claim about a major choice Fosun made over the last few weeks.

Tony Pulis says Vitor Pereira contract decision was ‘common sense’
Vitor Pereira’s new contract with Wolves came as a surprise to most, with Wolves languishing last in the Premier League and without any points.
The decision to hand their manager a new long-term deal sparked a reaction from the football world, with Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer among those who were shocked.
Now, Tony Pulis has delivered his reaction to the news, and the former Premier League manager seems to have taken a different stance.
Speaking on his podcast with Mick McCarthy, the Managers, Pulis said on the new contract, “If they have backed him with £160 million, it is just common sense.
“If we are talking common sense, if the board of directors or the owners of the football club give him £160 million to spend and then sack him after four or five games, that doesn’t give him time, personally, or the chance to get the team together and get the results they need.”
Tony Pulis’ numbers are a little off. Wolves spent around £120 million and not £160 million as Pulis and McCarthy suggest.
Additionally, the Old Gold made more money than they spent this summer, and there is no doubt they do not possess the same quality as last season.
Pereira was not as fully backed as the two former Premier League managers believe, although the Portuguese was very picky with who the club targeted.
Mick McCarthy agrees it was ‘sensible’ to give Vitor Pereira new Wolves deal
Mick McCarthy still loves Wolves after managing them for six years from 2006 to 2012, and he has also given his verdict on Vitor Pereira.
Interestingly, McCarthy has hinted he believes that there could be a clause in the contract that allows Fosun to sack Pereira, but that it was still a sensible choice.

Speaking on his podcast, he said, “We both know it can be a three-year contract with a three-month get-out clause in it, and if they were doing it to show support of Vitor Pereira after what he did last year so the players go, ‘hold on a minute, the club are backing him and backing us; we want him to get out of it. I see that as a really sensible thing to do.

“But we both know they are not bothered by how much they back you now, because you have got to try to get out of that rut of losing games; if you continue to lose games, it has got to end.”
Wolves have a chance to get their first points of the season when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.
The Old Gold have a great omen ahead of the match that could hint towards three points.
Wolves need to start turning things around fast, and after their cup win against Everton, another victory against opposition like Tottenham could be the catalyst.
