Wolves likely see Matheus Cunha as the side’s biggest loss this summer.
The Brazilian was Wolves’ most important player last season by some margin, and seeing him exit to Man United was a tough pill to swallow for fans.
But Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause was activated, and off he went.
Tim Spiers ranked the 155 Premier League transfers, including Jorgen Strand Larsen’s move from Celta Vigo in the top 10.
And he also has another Wolves signing ahead of Cunha’s switch to Old Trafford.
Tim Spiers ranks Fer Lopez’s switch to Wolves higher than Matheus Cunha’s Man United move
Spiers has covered Wolves extensively over the years, and he believes the club’s signing of Fer Lopez was a better transfer overall than their sale of Cunha.

Ranking for The Athletic, he has Lopez in the 66th spot, saying: “The 21-year-old is a talented but raw ball-carrying flair player who only started seven times in La Liga for Celta Vigo, having made his top-flight debut for them last December.
“Wolves have taken a bit of a gamble – could be incredible, could be a flop. The early signs are good.”
Lopez had a promising outing against Everton at the weekend, showing real signs of creativity and attacking threat with the ball at his feet.
Matheus Cunha only manages 76th in Premier League transfer rankings
Ten spots back, you’ll find Wolves’ former talisman.
Lopez being ranked above Cunha isn’t to say he’s got more quality. The most optimistic Wolves fan wouldn’t go that far.

But it is suggesting that the £19 million initial fee and the Spaniard’s age make Spiers feel better about his signing from Celta Vigo.
The absence of Cunha has been sorely felt so far this season, with Wolves struggling to create as effectively since his exit, but the hope is that Lopez can step into that role.
As Spiers says, the early signs show promise.
