Wolves’ left side has taken a real hit following the departures of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Wanderers will go into 2025/26 with a new-look left flank, and in all honesty that was rather expected.
Cunha’s exit from the club was inevitable after weeks and months of speculation.
But there was also a growing feeling that Rayan Ait-Nouri could leave as well, given the length of time he had been at the club.
Ait-Nouri completed a £36 million move to Manchester City on Monday.
Some fans were left irritated by Ait-Nouri’s fee, which many felt was below his true market value. There was further annoyance because Wolves had to pay around £9.5 million to remove the 50% sell-on clause that Angers had.
Ait-Nouri sent a classy message to Wolves fans when he left the club, which really showed his time at Molineux left a lasting impression on him.
And now, the Algerian has delighted fans further with some more comments.

Rayan Ait-Nouri delights fans with new remarks about Wolves

Ait-Nouri is now in the US with Manchester City, who are taking part in the Club World Cup.
Ait-Nouri could make his debut against Wydad AC on Wednesday, and some Wolves fans will no doubt be tuning in to see how he gets on.
There is warmth towards Ait-Nouri for all he did at the club and how he conducted himself when he left.
And Ait-Nouri has spoken highly of Wolves in recent days during a training session with City.
He said: “There were big emotions because I was in Wolves for five years, you know? It was a very good club. The people, everyone was incredible in this team.
“For sure, I had a lot of friends in Wolves.”

Ait-Nouri is a class act
It is lovely to hear Ait-Nouri speaking so highly of Wolves.
It’s not something we have heard from other players who have left the club recently, and he will surely get a brilliant reception next season when he comes back to Molineux.
Rayan Ait-Nouri for Wolves (2020-2025) |
Appearances – 157 |
Goals – 12 |
Assists – 19 |
Ait-Nouri deserves every success.
He always worked hard at Wolves and when the time came for him to leave, he behaved with class and respect.
Hopefully he will showcase his talent for City and realise his potential to become one of the world’s best full-backs. Joao Gomes thinks Ait-Nouri will become one of the best, and few Wolves fans would bet against that.
