Wolves youngster Theo Corbeanu’s good form at Sheffield Wednesday continued yesterday, as he scored in their 3-2 win over Accrington Stanley.
The attacker was making his 11th appearance for the Owls.
The Canada international had a slow start at Hillsborough, but has caught the attention of Darren Moore in recent weeks.
He’s now started the club’s last four matches across all competitions.
After opening his account against Sunderland, things have been getting better and better for Corbeanu.
He was named in the League One Team of the Week after the draw with Gillingham.
Against Accrington yesterday, he helped himself to his second goal for the club – and it was a superb hit.
He exchanged passes on the left with Liam Palmer, and then came inside and unleashed a fierce drive at the near post. The club’s Twitter account described it as ‘outstanding’.
That strike came in the 20th minute, with Florian Kamberi scoring to make it 3-0 just moments later.
Accrington got a couple back, but Wednesday held out to win 3-2 and extend their unbeaten run to eight games.
Taking to social media, Corbeanu wrote: “A hard fought win yesterday from the team and a very important 3 points in the league. Travelling fans were unreal. The only way is up!”
Great news for Wolves with Corbeanu starting to flourish
Corbeanu’s loan spell is really beginning to take shape now.
He is in the team getting regular minutes, and now has a couple of goals under his belt which will do wonders for his confidence.
It’s up to him now to keep working hard so he can keep his shirt.
Wolves have very high hopes for the 19-year-old, and will be very keen for him to play as much as possible, after getting a taste of Premier League action last season.
