There have been plenty of glaring issues in the play of this side to start the season, but rather than dwelling on the negative, let’s take a minute to give one player his flowers after some top performances.
Hugo Bueno leads Wolves in four Premier League stats through three games
Having returned from loan at the start of the summer, there were question marks over the future of left wing-back Hugo Bueno. Even more so, when David Moller Wolfe was signed in his position.
But to the Spaniard’s credit, he has made the most of his minutes in the opening weeks.
According to FotMob, Bueno leads Wolves in four key stats across the first three games of the season.

Among Wolves players, he has the most successful dribbles per 90 (1.3), most tackles per 90 (3.3), most chances created (3), and joint-most interceptions (4) so far this season.
Bueno also has the second-highest FotMob rating in the side, trailing only Joao Gomes.
Wolves’ new signing David Moller Wolfe hasn’t reached the same levels as Hugo Bueno
After Rayan Ait-Nouri’s departure, Wolves were resolute about their need to sign a replacement.
Moller Wolfe came in for £10 million in a deal that really came out of the blue. Since arriving at Molineux, it hasn’t been smooth sailing.

Not to say the Norwegian is doing poorly, but it’s evident he needs some time to adjust to the league and to a new position at wing-back.
Bueno was thought to be a squad player at best, but when he has replaced his counterpart, there is a noticeable improvement in Wolves’ forward play.
This is one of the tightest positional battles in the Wolves squad, and it will be intriguing to see who comes out on top.
