The very exclusive club Matheus Cunha has joined after goal for Wolves v Forest

Wolves took a point against Nottingham Forest on Saturday – and there was another goal for Matheus Cunha.

Wanderers couldn’t quite build on the result against Burnley in midweek, and had to settle for a share of the spoils against the Reds.

It was another poor performance from Wanderers, who could not get the better of an uninspiring Forest side that did not look as if they wanted to win the game.

Wolves were very sloppy on the ball and the creation of clear-cut chances was few and far between, and Gary O’Neil has work to do ahead of the next game with West Ham United.

But there was at least another goal for Matheus Cunha, who has now joined a pretty exclusive club thanks to his latest contribution for Wolves.

Matheus Cunha’s latest Premier League goal means he’s now part of an exclusive club

Cunha struck for Wolves midway through the first-half, after Harry Toffolo had opened the scoring for the visitors.

He finished off a lovely Wolves move, with Pablo Sarabia getting into the penalty area and cutting back.

Cunha made no mistake, sweeping the ball into the bottom corner.

That was Cunha’s fifth Premier League goal of the season, which is a respectable return considering he is not an out-and-out striker who is just doing a job leading the line right now.

Interestingly, that was the fifth consecutive game in which Cunha has either scored or assisted, which means he is now part of an exclusive club.

The £60,000-a-week star is only the fourth Brazilian player ever to achieve this feat, with Gabriel Jesus managing it twice before, and Gabriel Martinelli and former Manchester City player Elano also doing it.

Cunha is currently in a purple patch and it’s great to see him being influential for Wolves.

He may not particularly like leading the line, but his output recently has been really good and O’Neil must be delighted with what he is doing.

The head coach is a big fan of Cunha and has praised him several times publicly at this point.

He is clearly working hard with him, and it’s great to see Cunha join a very exclusive club of Brazilian players in the history of the Premier League.
