The two Wolves players on very thin ice heading into Chelsea clash this weekend

Wolves have the treat of a Christmas Eve visit of Chelsea to Molineux to look forward to this weekend, but two players are on thin ice.

Wolves are heading into Christmas Eve with a game against Chelsea on the cards. Coming off the back of a 3-0 thrashing by West Ham, Wolves will be hoping to recover against a poor Chelsea side at Molineux.

However, for two players there is the need to be careful in this one as they’re on the cusp of a suspension with on yellow card all that’s needed to push them over the edge.

Gary O’Neil‘s side have already been stung by suspensions this season, even a double suspension of two key midfielders at once and so will be wary of a similar outcome happening.

Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes both got suspended for the game against Arsenal at The Emirates and with them in the team, there’s every chance Wolves could’ve at least got a point.

Nelson Semedo and Craig Dawson are the other two who have picked up suspensions this season, and now there are two others just a moment away.

Which two Wolves players are are risk of suspension

According to the official Premier League website, there are two players currently on thin ice for Wolves. £24.2m valued Rayan Ait-Nouri is one while the other is O’Neil’s key man Hwang Hee-Chan.

Both are just one yellow card away from a one-game suspension due to an accumulation of yellow cards. This however will only be the case for another two games when it resets and the limit is 10 cards to receive a two-game suspension.

Therefore Wolves will be eager to keep these two away from trouble to avoid any more needless suspensions amid a busy period in the Premier League.

Wolves duo need to keep their noses clean

This Sunday against Chelsea will be followed by Brentford as the two games in which the duo must avoid a booking in to ensure they aren’t suspended.

If Hwang was to be suspended it could mean he isn’t seen again until February with the Asian Cup taking place in January. This would be a substantial layoff and so he really can’t afford to miss more games through suspension.

Ait-Nouri recently came back from injury too which means it isn’t ideal to lose him again either especially considering how important the next three games are set to be.
