The two figures Wolves already have in mind to replace Gary O’Neil as decisive stance emerges

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil is feeling the pressure at Molineux amid a dire spell of form.

In their previous 20 Premier League games, Wolves have secured just one victory, telling of the state the club is currently in.

Glued to the bottom of the table with just three points from a possible 30 has left fans feeling rightfully doubtful over O’Neil’s future.

It’s a shame that the Old Gold are in such a position given how talented the current squad is, with a lot riding on the next 90 minutes Wolves play.

Wolves eye candidates to replace Gary O’Neil

Next up for Wolves come Southampton, who visit Molineux on match day 11 of the Premier League campaign.

After drawing against Crystal Palace, pressure piled on O’Neil as his side’s winless run extended, with such pressure now coming from all areas.

Ahead of the game, TBR reported that the clash against the Saints is regarded a must-win fixture by Wolves’ hierarchy, with a decision to make on the manager if a win is not earned.

Given what is riding on the result, TBR sources state that those above O’Neil have done work on potential replacements, with two names raised.

Former West Ham United manager David Moyes is one and ex-Wolves player and Luton Town boss Rob Edwards is another.

Moyes understands what is needed to get through a relegation battle so could be a smart short-term hire, while Edwards is said to have maintained good connections with his former club.

TBR links the two manager’s with a variety of Premier League experience to the possible vacancy at Wolves, with all eyes set on Saturday afternoon.

O’Neil’s future rides on Southampton clash

It seems that there aren’t just three points on the line on match day 11 but also the future of Wolves in the Premier League.

If Wolves lose, O’Neil’s job isn’t only in danger, but the Old Gold would face a tremendously uphill battle to survive the season.

Given the talent currently in the squad, it would be nothing short of a travesty to not beat the Saints, with so much riding on the fixture.

Three points is a must for the Midlands club’s stance in the top-flight and for the future of O’Neil’s reign.
