Wolves appear to be in very good hands with Vitor Pereira at the helm.
A few months ago, the picture was bleak at Molineux, with Gary O’Neil struggling to get results.
Eventually, he was relieved of his duties and in came Vitor Pereira from Saudi club Al-Shabab. It was a somewhat left-field appointment, with Pereira having gone from job to job in the last few years and never before managed in a top five league in Europe.
But it’s turned out to be an inspired decision, with Pereira guiding Wolves to 12 points clear of the drop zone.
Wolves are all but safe now, and planning can begin for next season.
It’s exciting to think about where Wolves could go under Pereira, but Fosun will need to back him this summer if the club is to move forward.
Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer were both in agreement that Pereira has done a great job at Wolves, and an intriguing report has dropped about the changes Pereira has made behind the scenes.

Vitor Pereira has made two key changes behind the scenes at Wolves

The Telegraph have shed some light on the Pereira reign so far at Molineux.
It’s clear that the 56-year-old is a very popular figure in the dressing room already, and his popularity with the players has been very evident over the last few weeks.
Pereira was mobbed by the Wolves players on the bench after the win over West Ham, and he just seems to have struck up a great connection with them.
Part of the reason for the improvement at Wolves is down to Pereira improving team spirit and squad dynamics.
The Telegraph say there are two things in particular he has done to improve things behind the scenes:
- He insisted on all players eating together at meal times in the canteen
- Overnight stays in a hotel before home matches have been brought in to boost team spirit
It is also stated that players have been taken by ‘Pereira’s clarity in message and how he has introduced a clear style of play’.
Pereira has shown he’s worth backing by Fosun at Wolves
Pereira has been a breath of fresh air at Wolves since he replaced O’Neil.
Wolves are a much more organised and competitive outfit now, and have become harder to beat.
Wolves were all at sea defensively before he came in, and that is one of the biggest fixes he has made, with the signing of Emmanuel Agbadou proving a masterstroke.
But his handling of the dressing room so far has been exemplary and clearly, the changes he’s implemented have been for the better.

His spell so far is reminiscent of Julen Lopetegui’s two years ago – although the football is much more pleasing on the eye.
Of course, we all know what happened with Lopetegui in the end, and fans will have everything crossed Pereira isn’t left short this summer like the Spaniard was.
That was ultimately the reason he walked away, so Fosun cannot risk anything like that happening with Pereira.
