The one key factor Burnley defender Maxime Esteve is wary of about facing Wolves

Wolves are hoping to finally get their first win in the Premier League today, with Burnley coming to Molineux – and their defender Maxime Esteve is wary about one factor.

Wolves are desperate to get three points on the board to avoid getting cut adrift at the bottom.

It’s just two points taken so far this season, and fans are deeply concerned at the moment.

Arguably, poor recruitment has led to the struggles this season. Wolves lost so many good, proven, players and also a couple of game-changers.

And the new signings that have come in have yet to really make big impacts – barring Ladislav Krejci, who looks a top addition.

Today’s game with Burnley is huge.

Vitor Pereira has issued a defiant message to his Wolves players ahead of the game, and after the defeat to Sunderland he suggested it was a must-win fixture.

Burnley won’t make it easy, but their defender Maxime Esteve has pointed to one factor that could be key today.

Last weekend’s defeat to Sunderland has now made this game with Burnley even bigger than it already was.

It has always been a game that Wolves need to be getting three points from, and that is certainly the case now given the club’s league position.

Scott Parker has lost all three games he’s faced against Wolves as a manager, losing 1-0 every time as Fulham manager previously.

That may give Wolves a bit of hope, but his Burnley side are not to be underestimated, having taken seven points so far in the Premier League.

But Maxime Esteve also knows Wolves aren’t to be taken lightly, and has pointed to the Molineux factor as something that could be key today.

He said in the lead up to this game: “For sure it will be a tough game because they will try to do their best to get points, to get the three points.

“They play at home, so I think the crowd will be good for them also.

“We will try to do our best and get points. That will be the most important thing we can do, we will try to do that.”

Scott Parker not reading into Wolves’ start

The Molineux crowd could indeed be a huge factor in today’s game between Wolves and Burnley.

The supporters in attendance will no doubt give their all, but it is also on the players to breathe life into them and get them onside.

Failure to do that will lead to frustration, and an uncomfortable atmosphere could inhibit the players.

“It has been a tough season so far for Wolves, but Scott Parker is not looking too much into Wanderers’ league position, saying in his pre-match press conference (via Lancashire Times): “We’re really early in the season and to be quite honest, our focus is just on us. That sounds cliche but that’s the way it is really,” Parker told a press conference.

“The different situations and scenarios teams fall in throughout this year will vary every single game.

“There’ll be teams where you’re sitting here saying they’ve not lost in 10 and how hard is this going to be, or vice versa really.

“The facts are it’s the Premier League and it brings huge quality every game you play.”

Last week Pereira suggested this game this with Burnley is a must-win, and hopefully the players can step up and deliver.
