The nine reasons Vitor Pereira believes Wolves signing Emmanuel Agbadou is perfect for Premier League

The first signing of the Vitor Pereira era has arrived as Wolves announced the transfer of centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou.

Agbadou signed for Wolves for four-and-a-half-years, becoming Pereira’s first arrival at Molineux since taking charge as manager.

Already, Wolves are looking to welcome another centre-back following the Ivorian’s unveiling, in what is set to be a busy few weeks at Compton.

Wolves fans were delighted by Agbadou’s arrival, as the Old Gold finally replenished in central defence following the failed attempts in the summer.

Wolves have targeted a centre-back for some time, with pressure applied to Matt Hobbs to deliver what was so desperately needed.

Upon the Ivory Coast international’s arrival, Hobbs explained why Wolves signed Agbadou, praising the former Reims star’s fit to the squad.

The sporting director’s belief was echoed by Wolves manager Pereira, who outlined the defender’s suitability for the Premier League.

“He’s a player that has the skills to play in the way that I want to see my team playing. Pressing, sometimes high pressing, controlling from deep,” Pereira told Wolves’ official website

The boss then went on to pinpoint nine strengths his signing has, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the new arrival.

“He has the speed and the quality to control from deep, he’s strong in the air, strong on the ground, strong on the duels, and can build the play. He can play on the left, can play in the middle or on the right, because he can play with both feet and, for me, it’s important.”

When could Agbadou make his Wolves debut?

The defender’s announcement took longer than expected as Agbadou had to be granted a visa to travel to England to complete his transfer.

Now that the 27-year-old is officially a Wolf, the next question is when can fans expect to see the new number 12 in action?

Journalist Liam Keen gave an indication on the matter, suggesting that the centre-back ‘could play’ in the FA Cup clash with Bristol City on Saturday.

Keen added that Agbadou was expected to have taken part in training soon after his arrival, bolstering his chances of making his debut this week.
