The latest thing that’ll be a big annoyance to Gary O’Neil now emerges at Wolves

Wolves are now coming into a very important period of the season – but the squad will likely be feeling somewhat jaded in a few weeks’ time.

Wanderers are currently sitting in 13th place in the Premier League table on 19 points, which a lot of people probably would have taken at the start of the season.

Gary O’Neil has done well under the circumstances, with Julen Lopetegui leaving the club just days before the new season.

Just recently, Wolves haven’t been looking too good.

The performances against West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Arsenal were pretty poor and improvements are needed going forward.

But it will be difficult to do that over a hectic period, with Wolves’ recovery time having now been revealed…

Wolves are facing a testing next couple of weeks to close out the year.

TalkSPORT have today released a table of all the Premier League clubs’ recovery time over the next three gameweeks.

Wolves only have 146 hours of recovery time, and the only club with less time to recover than that is Chelsea with 143.5.

Wolves and Chelsa are facing off at Molineux on Christmas Eve, a decision that was taken recently and absolutely infuriated fans of both clubs.

It is the first time in 28 years that a game is being played a day before Christmas Day and the only Premier League game to be played on Christmas Eve since the competition’s inception in 1992.

Wolves then take on Brentford on December 27, before finishing with a game against Everton on December 30.

A tough period for Gary O’Neil

So many frustrating things have happened this season where Wolves are concerned.

Wanderers are constantly getting stung by VAR, players like Matheus Nunes and Jonny Castro Otto have acted up, and now Gary O’Neil is having to try and keep his players fresh due to this awful schedule. It has certainly not been a straightforward stint so far for the 40-year-old.

Wolves should not be playing Chelsea on Christmas Eve, and fans of both clubs are right to be expressing their displeasure about the decision.

Once again, the Premier League has shown it has absolutely zero consideration for the supporters, and there is a real risk that both Wolves and Chelsea will take injury hits to their squads given the rapid turnarounds.
