The impressive 24/25 Premier League record Wolves can set vs Man City as Pep Guardiola seeks to stop Vitor Pereira party

Wolves will go in search of another win this Friday, and face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

It has been a brilliant past month for Wolves, who won every game they played in April.

Wolves are the form team in Europe right now after making it six wins on the spin, and people outside of the Wolves sphere are now really starting to take note of the job Vitor Pereira has done.

Pereira was something of a gamble when he was appointed by Wolves.

He was at Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, where he had not been for very long – much like most of his previous jobs before that.

But Pereira – who’s admitted his surprise about the connection he’s built with the fans – came in at Wolves and has changed the picture.

And now, the Portuguese has the chance to set another brilliant record.

Manchester City will be a very tough test for Wolves.

Of course, they have had their struggles this season, and have failed to retain their Premier League title.

But Pep Guardiola is still Pep Guardiola, and City still have an incredible team on paper.

And actually, they are finishing the season strongly, and are currently eight games unbeaten across all competitions.

But Wolves will go into the game full of confidence, and fans will feel City can be got at.

A win at the Etihad would perhaps be Wolves’ biggest statement yet, and it would also see Pereira set a new record for the current Premier League campaign.

Currently, Wolves are on a six-game winning streak. This has also been done by Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest this season.

But no side has managed to win seven in a row this term. So there is a chance to set an outright record, which would be an absolutely amazing feat for Wolves given how turbulent this campaign has been.

The motivation is there for Wolves against Man City

Wolves have to feel they can beat City, and Pereira will surely be telling his players that ahead of the game.

In recent times, Wanderers haven’t fared too well at the Etihad. But Wolves have definitely given City problems since their promotion back to the top-flight in 2018.

It’ll be a tall order to get three points, but confidence is soaring right now and belief has never been stronger.

City have shown vulnerability this season and can be done on the transition.

Wolves, as we know, are very good in this department with players like Matheus Cunha, Jorgen Strand Larsen and the two wing-backs.
