Rob Edwards has been speaking about Wolves’ midfield duo Andre and Joao Gomes – and it is crystal clear what his plan for them will be.
Wolves have had a dreadful season so far, and that is mainly down to poor recruitment.
Wolves brought in a number of players who didn’t have Premier League experience which in hindsight was a poor call, given how many experienced stars left the club in the summer.
Rob Edwards has now been brought in to try and rectify Wolves’ situation. Molineux officials think Edwards can unite the club, but achieving safety is going to be a tall order.
It is perhaps the weakest squad Wolves have had since being back in the top-flight.
But in Andre and Joao Gomes there are certainly two high-level players – and Edwards has been speaking about the pair in the build-up to the Forest game.
Rob Edwards hints he’ll play Andre and Joao Gomes at every turn

It has not been the best of seasons for Andre or Gomes, but they have still been a lot better than the majority of their teammates.
In recent weeks, both Andre and Gomes have been linked with exits.
But Wolves want to keep both through to the end of the season, and it sounds very much as though Edwards will be giving them every minute possible, unlike Vitor Pereira.
He said in an interview with Sky Sports: “They are really good players. They can take the ball in tight spaces. They can take the ball up against people.
Andre is a top player on his day for Wolves
“They enjoy doing that, that is their game, so we need to be able to use that. If we miss that too much, then we’re not going to play to our strength.”
Inexplicably, Pereira dropped both Andre and Gomes a few times earlier this season.
But from these comments, it’s safe to say the Brazilian duo will be in every starting XI unless they are injured, or there is a desperate need for rotation due to a quick turnaround.
Andre and Gomes upturn is key to Wolves revival
If Wolves are to get out of this mess, then getting Andre and Gomes back into form will be crucial.
Wolves fans felt Andre was the team’s best performer against Aston Villa, and he now needs to build on that display.

Gomes wasn’t quite as good as his teammate against Villa, but has generally been improving in recent weeks after poor start by his standards.
But the verdict from Edwards will be music to many fans’ ears.
Because we simply cannot have these two not playing when they are by far and away the two best players in the squad. Quite what Pereira was thinking dropping them when he was in charge is still anyone’s guess.
