The five former Wolves players in action at the Club World Cup and how to watch them

Though Wolves aren’t in action at the Club World Cup, there are a handful of names involved that will be of interest to those in the West Midlands. 

The Club World Cup kicks off on June 14th in the United States, with each club eyeing a spot in the final on July 13th.

Though the Premier League season ended almost a month ago, there’s been no time for rest just yet for those involved in international duty and now, the Club World Cup.

32 clubs from around the world will fight it out for a prize of almost £100m, and though Wolves aren’t in the picture, five former players are.

With that said, here are the five former Wolves players in action at the tournament and when they play.

Vitinha – Paris Saint-Germain

Who would’ve thought that after flattering to deceive on loan at Wolves, Vitinha would go on to be a Ballon d’Or frontrunner

Since the Premier League season ended, Vitinha won the Champions League with PSG, the Nations League with Portugal, and is now gunning for the Club World Cup.

Pedro Neto – Chelsea

Like Vitinha, Pedro Neto ended the season with silverware as Chelsea won the Europa Conference League.

The Blues are one of two Premier League clubs at the tournament and are in Group D alongside Flamengo, Esperance Sportive de Tunisie and Los Angeles FC.

Ruben Neves – Al-Hilal

Wolves captain Ruben Neves has been spoken about by fans in recent weeks following Portugal’s Nations League triumph. 

Neves scored the decisive penalty to the joy of those back at Molineux, and now, Wolves fans can get a glimpse of how their former skipper performs at club level. 

Al-Hilal are in Group H alongside ​​Real Madrid, Pachuca and Salzburg.

Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Nunes – Manchester City

There’s no love lost between Wolves fans and Matheus Nunes, who will be at the Club World Cup with Manchester City. 

Aside from Nunes being a former Wolf, there’s an additional motive to watch Pep Guardiola’s side in action, as Rayan Ait-Nouri will make his first appearance for City. 

Ait-Nouri completed a move to Man City ahead of the tournament, and Wolves supporters can see the former defender in action in the Group G group-stage fixtures below.
