Joao Gomes has been linked with a move away from Wolves over the recent weeks, with the Old Gold struggling in the Premier League.
It has been reported over the international break that Manchester United are interested in the Wolves midfielder, and they view him as a cheaper alternative to Elliott Anderson or Carlos Baleba.
Any idea that a move could be sanctioned in January has been quashed, but the future of the player past the summer is no doubt up in the air, especially if it is Championship football for Wolves next season.
Now, a new report coming out of Portugal has hinted at the price Wolves could expect to sell Joao Gomes at should a deal be completed.
How much is Joao Gomes worth in today’s market?
How much Wolves could receive for Joao Gomes
If Wolves are to be relegated, signs are certainly pointing towards players such as Joao Gomes exiting the club.
It is a reality that the Wanderers will not want to face, and the arrival of Rob Edwards has been made to potentially assure their status as a Premier League club.
However, there are many who feel Edwards was appointed with the Championship in mind, and if the club do go down, the chances of Joao Gomes staying are slim, and the price they could receive has been reported.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, “With Wolves potentially being relegated, Joao Gomes is not ruling out a move to Manchester United, who would have to pay around €50 million (£44 million) for the Brazilian international.”

A fee at the figure mentioned above would place Joao Gomes as Wolves’ 5th most expensive sale of all time.
Hopefully Wolves can manage to stay in the Premier League, and many more years of the Brazilian in the Old Gold can be witnessed.
Staying in the Premier League is crucial for Wolves
If Wolves go down, there could be a bigger exodus of players than just Joao Gomes in the summer.
Jorgen Strand Larsen was tipped for a move to Champions League club Newcastle in the last transfer window, and after going from potentially playing in the biggest competition in club football to featuring in England’s second tier, he will no doubt have a wish to leave.
Other players such as Andre and Ladislav Krejci are both Premier League quality players too, and keeping hold of them after relegation could also prove difficult.
There is quite a lot at stake for the Wanderers and their final placement in the league this season.
