Wolves take on Liverpool this weekend and Rob Edwards will be determined to halt his losing run.
Wanderers are at Anfield on Saturday for another big game, and the Wolves manager is looking for a response after the poor showing against Brentford.
The Old Gold were again in the game for the most part. But sloppy defending allowed Keane Lewis-Potter to break the deadlock, and he added a second towards the end.
Will Rob Edwards get his first point/s as Wolves manager against Liverpool at Anfield? 👀
Arne Slot reckons Wolves will be a challenge for his side this weekend…
Wolves again lacked quality in the final third, which is an ongoing concern for Edwards.
Up next is Liverpool and although they’ve been nowhere near their usual selves this season, this will still be a huge test for Wolves.
Wanderers have injury problems which doesn’t help, as Edwards is seeking to stop his losing run – and given the record he stands to equal if he tastes defeat, he’ll be very keen to do that.

Rob Edwards one Wolves defeat away from matching Mick McCarthy record

Wolves somehow have to find a way against Liverpool.
But recently the team gave a decent display against Arsenal and were very unlucky to come away with nothing at the Emirates.
Confidence is low, but the game being at Anfield and not Molineux may actually help.
Edwards will be desperate not to lose, because if he does then that will see him match a record set by Mick McCarthy.

As per BBC Sport, McCarthy is the only manager ever in the history of the Premier League to record seven straight losses with a new team, doing so with Sunderland.
He actually opened with nine straight defeats in the 2002/03 season, with Sunderland being relegated at the end of that campaign. This then extended to 14 straight defeats in the Premier League with Sunderland, with McCarthy losing five in the 2005/06 season, after the Black Cats’ promotion back to the top-flight.

Edwards needs repeat of Wolves’ display vs Arsenal
Edwards will be extremely keen to pick up points against Liverpool and key to doing that will be to defend well.
There can be no sloppiness like there was against Brentford last weekend because Liverpool – as much as they’ve not been at their best – will punish Wolves if that happens.
The last time Wolves played at Anfield, Matheus Cunha scored an absolute stunner 💥
Are there any current Wolves players capable of doing something like this?
Against Arsenal, Wolves defended really well and were organised for the most part, and the game plan so very nearly led to a point.
If we see something similar against Liverpool, you would think there’ll be a great chance of taking a point.
And who knows, if Wolves can somehow manage to show a bit of cutting edge up top, maybe there can be an outside chance to take all three.
