Wolves are rock-bottom of the Premier League table, and new data has arrived from Opta suggesting the chance of relegation, ahead of Rob Edwards coming in as the club’s new manager.
It has been an utterly disastrous season so far for Wolves, and just over a week ago Fosun finally sacked Vitor Pereira.
Pereira’s position had simply become untenable at Wolves, with the team all over the place under his guidance.
He had to go, and Wolves have now found his successor.
Rob Edwards is to arrive at Molineux and his objective is very clear: keep Wolves in the Premier League. It is going to be a very tall order, but there are still many games left and points to play for.
Edwards will need to make history to keep Wolves up, with no club having ever survived from this position after 11 matches.
As he prepares to get his feet under the table, Opta have now offered the new percentage chance that Wolves will go down.
How likely Wolves currently are to get relegated

Wolves’ current predicament is certainly bleak.
Just two points taken from 11 games is simply not good enough, and it will be a massive ask for Edwards to keep the club in the top-flight.
The hard work will begin immediately for Edwards and amid him starting, the Opta supercomputer has offered the new percentage chance for Wolves to go down.
Following the latest defeat to Chelsea, Wolves now have a 91% chance of slipping into the Championship next year, via BBC Sport.
Rob Edwards should win Manager of the Season if he keeps Wolves up
So new data is suggesting there is only a very slim chance of Wolves staying up this season.
Edwards deserves credit for having the balls to take this job on. Everything points to him failing to keep Wolves up, but maybe, just maybe he’ll instigate a turnaround.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 15 | 11 | 3 | 2 | 6 | 12 | 16 | -4 | 11 | |
| 16 | 11 | 3 | 2 | 6 | 10 | 20 | -10 | 11 | |
| 17 | 11 | 3 | 1 | 7 | 14 | 22 | -8 | 10 | |
| 18 | 11 | 3 | 1 | 7 | 13 | 23 | -10 | 10 | |
| 19 | 11 | 2 | 3 | 6 | 10 | 20 | -10 | 9 | |
| 20 | 11 | 0 | 2 | 9 | 7 | 25 | -18 | 2 |
Edwards is expected to be backed by Wolves in January, although we’ll see what kind of pull the club have given the precarious situation.
If he is somehow able to guide Wolves to safety this season, then he will surely be in the conversation for Manager of the Season come the end of the campaign.
Simply because the odds are so heavily stacked against Wolves at this point with the amount of problems he currently has to fix. It would be a simply extraordinary achievement.
