Wolves suffered their first defeat under Vitor Pereira when Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest came to town.
Wolves lost 3-0 to Forest in a trialling contest at Molineux, where the Old Gold were exposed by their former manager’s stylish system.
Pereira can be proud of his team’s performance to some degree, as Wolves were well in the contest for the most part but, were undone by the clinical streak of Forest.
It’s back to the drawing board for the Wolves manager, who must turn things around promptly as the Midlands side sit on the edge of the relegation zone.

Dave Edwards shares thoughts on Jorgen Strand Larsen’s performance vs Forest
While it was Forest’s potent edge that won the game, some Wolves players failed to perform as expected when the chance was presented.
Fans were unimpressed with Hwang Hee-chan against the Reds and Pereira took aim at Tommy Doyle, two players who were placed under the microscope.
There was however another figure who came into the fold when Dave Edwards evaluated the game, as the former Wolves midfielder highlighted the Old Gold’s difference-maker.
Unfortunately, the Welshman wasn’t speaking positively when drawing attention to Jorgen Strand Larsen’s display, as he referenced the chances the striker had to score.
“The two big chances fell to Jorgen Strand Larsen that he needed to take. They were the difference,” Edwards said in his Express and Star column.
Edwards’ assessment would have mirrored the opinion of many others, as Strand Larsen failed to score from several good chances, walking away from the game despite recording 1.04 expected goals (xG).
Simply a bad day at the office for Strand Larsen against Forest
Strand Larsen earned his place back in the starting XI to face Forest after his heroics at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the week prior.

The summer signing scored a poachers goal, finishing thunderously past Spurs to hand Wolves a late point in North London.
Typically, the 24-year-old failed where he excelled against Spurs, being unable to score two significant chances that could have seen the result end in Wolves’ favour.
We’ve seen just how potent Strand Larsen can be when acting as Wolves’ target man, which is why faith in the forward must remain however, he’ll certainly want to right his wrongs in the near future.
