Wolves are now certain to have some added confidence going into their fixture vs West Ham after a strong showing at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Rob Edwards secured his first point as the Old Gold’s head coach and ended an 11-game losing streak by the Molineux club.
It was the second game in a row where there were plenty of positives to take, and finally signs of life coming into this Wolves squad were there to be seen.
Gary Neville was left impressed by the Wanderers and felt they did deserve the result in the end.
The introduction of Jhon Arias and Mateus Mane as central midfielders was certainly a surprise, but it was a decision that worked wholeheartedly.
Did Jhon Arias give his best performance in a Wolves shirt to date vs Man United? 🤔
The Colombian put in an industrious display playing as a number eight…
Edwards praised Mane, who surprised him in that role; meanwhile, Jhon Arias, who has struggled to impress fans since joining, looked more assured in the middle of the pitch. Arias received glowing praise online from supporters.
Now, eyes are firmly set on Saturday and turning that resilient performance into more than just a point. With West Ham rooted in the relegation zone, it is the perfect chance for the Old Gold to finally secure a win, and Opta has given them their chances.
Opta predicts Wolves vs West Ham

Wolves defied the odds against Manchester United.
The Old Gold were not expected to get anything against the Red Devils at Old Trafford, especially after a 4-1 defeat earlier in December.
However, Rob Edwards proved he can get a tune out of his side, and the determination and hard work shown were enough to get a point.
Now, the odds are slightly more in the Wanderers’ favour, as Opta have delivered their prediction for Wolves’ game against West Ham.
According to the data powerhouse, it looks set to be quite the close affair. Wolves have been given a 35.9% chance of winning, with West Ham slightly higher at 38%.
The chance of a draw is the most unlikely result at 26.1%.

Will Wolves pick up their first win of the season against West Ham?
Molineux is a fortress against West Ham
West Ham have not had a great time at Molineux over the years, and they will no doubt be dreading coming to a ground that they have had little joy at.
The Wanderers have often made life tough for the London side, and they will be looking to inflict the same disappointment against them once more.
In the last seven games at Wolves’ home ground between the Old Gold and the Hammers, West Ham have lost five of them.
Their only wins have come in the 2020/2021 season in a 3-2 loss for Wolves and in the 2023/2024 campaign as Wolves fell to defeat in a 3-2 thriller.
That strong home record and the two industrious performances vs Liverpool and Manchester United are certainly a strong platform for the Old Gold to finally secure a win this season.
