Wolves fans love Matheus Cunha, and one amazing statistic now suggests he’s right up there with the best players in the Premier League.
Wolves ran out 4-1 winners against Fulham last weekend to climb out of the relegation zone.
Alex Iwobi gave Fulham the lead, but Wolves hit back through Cunha, who scored a goal right out of the Dennis Bergkamp catalogue.
Wolves then blew Fulham away in the second-half, with Joao Gomes, Cunha and Goncalo Guedes all scoring.
It was a terrific all-round display, with Mario Lemina and Toti Gomes especially impressive as a makeshift centre-back pairing.
But the day was mainly all about Cunha and his amazing performance at Craven Cottage.
Alan Shearer has said Cunha has been one of the Premier League’s players of the season so far, and now a brilliant statistic about the Brazilian has emerged.
Only seven PL players have more goal contributions than Matheus Cunha since start of 2023/24

Many people are only just cottoning on to how good Cunha is.
But the reality is that Cunha has been superb for Wolves ever since Gary O’Neil arrived at the club in the summer of 2023.
Some will remember how Cunha absolutely shone against Manchester United in O’Neil’s first game in charge. That would prove to be a sign of things to come.
Cunha has gone from strength to strength at Molineux, and already has 10 goals or assists this season. Since the start of 2023/24, Cunha has 29 goal contributions in 44 appearances.
Only seven other players in the league have managed more. They are Cole Palmer, Mo Salah, Erling Haaland, Ollie Watkins, Bukayo Saka, Heung-min Son and Alexander Isak.
These players are arguably some of the very best in the league. So there’s now an argument that Cunha is also one such player.
Will Wolves keep hold of their star man?
It’s been reported that Wolves have ‘no plans’ to sell Cunha in January, which is obviously very good news.
And the suggestion is that it would take a huge transfer offer for Wolves to sell the player next summer, given he cost the club £44 million from Atletico Madrid. That said, Wolves getting relegation would surely force Wolves to accept a much ower fee than they would like.
But in an ideal world, Wolves will easily survive and then be able to keep Cunha for the 2025/26 campaign.

There’s already talk about Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur being interested, which is completely understandable.
Journalist Liam Keen has said big clubs have been interested in Cunha for 12 months now. And the club would be naive to think some won’t come calling.
Wolves fans would like to think their number 10 would be happy to stick around for another season after the current one. But realistically, it’ll be difficult given how unstoppable he can be.
