Steve Bull has just urged Wolves to do something they haven’t all season against Leicester City

Wolves host already relegated Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, and legend Steve Bull has requested one thing from the players during the match.

Vitor Pereira’s men have the luxury of playing with freedom ahead of the clash at Molineux, having already confirmed their Premier League status.

Wolves 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday mathematically secured their safety, although it’s been known for a while that the Wanderers weren’t in trouble.

Now the pressure is off and there is little to play for in the final matches, Pereira could hand Mateus Mane his debut, the 17-year-old attacker who has been lighting up the Wolves academy this term.

Unfortunately, that isn’t an opinion shared by Steve Bull, who has urged his former side to go all out to embarrass Leicester this weekend.

Steve Bull wants Wolves to thrash Leicester City

In a week where Jamie Vardy announced he will be leaving Leicester at the end of the campaign, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men will be extra fuelled for three points, despite seeing their relegation confirmed against Liverpool.

The Foxes are playing for their pride, something they haven’t done all season, and Vardy will be desperate to score two more to reach the 200 goal mark for the club.

Ahead of the showdown at Molineux, Bull wants Wolves to do something they haven’t managed all season, and that is to put five or six goals past an opponent.

The most they’ve scored in a game is four – the 4-1 victory over Fulham in November and the 4-2 win over Tottenham this month.

“If it was me, I’d name the strongest possible team and if we can get an early goal, this Leicester side will fold,” Bull wrote in his column for the E&S.

“I’d love to see us score four, five or even six! But they won’t lie down and let us win the game, Ruud van Nistelrooy and his players have their own futures to fight for and we have to take the game to them.

“It’s about us – we’re at home and we have to give our fans something to cheer about. Plenty of Wolves players don’t know their fate next season, so they also have a lot to play for before the end of the season.”

Wolves need to finish as high as possible

Wolves created history against Man United by doing the league double over them, but also winning five matches in a row for the first time in the Premier League.

Pereira’s side have built up some serious momentum in recent weeks, and they could finish as high as 12th if this form continues.

There is extra incentive to move up the table as it can bag Fosun increased prize money and make them an attractive proposition for potential new signings.

That is very important with Matheus Cunha set to leave Wolves, as Pereira will need to find a replacement for the Brazilian superstar.

A higher finish in the league would also lay down a marker for the club’s ambitions next season, with a strong transfer window perhaps being the catalyst for finishing in the top-half.
