Steve Bull gives honest assessment of Wolves fans clashing with Vitor Pereira last week

Wolves fans and Vitor Pereira had quite the encounter following the late winner by Burnley last weekend, and Steve Bull has given his verdict on it.

The Old Gold were chasing an all-important winner, but instead the away side would go up the other end and deal a devastating blow when Lyle Foster scored Burnley’s third.

It sparked anger among the fanbase, and Vitor Pereira confronted the frustrated South Bank.

It was ugly scenes at Molineux, with the Portuguese head coach having to be dragged away by security at the ground.

Steve Bull has now given his assessment of the unsavoury moment and whether anyone was in the wrong.

Steve Bull says fans have right to be angry

Former Wolves player and now legend Steve Bull has defended fans for their actions against Vitor Pereira in their 3-2 loss to Burnley.

The Wanderers head coach was left unimpressed with supporters who seemingly turned on him and the players following the game.

The frustrations, anger, and disappointment were all evident to see in the face of Pereira, and things certainly looked toxic.

Now, via his weekly column for the Express and Star, Steve Bull has backed up those supporters amid uncertainty for Vitor Pereira.

Bull said, “The fans can say whatever they want because they pay their money week in, week out. Sometimes the chairman, head coach and players need to take it on the chin.

“It’s not down to one man, we’re a team and Wolves is a family, we’re in it together. Those in charge are strong enough to take some flak from fans after suffering a late goal to Burnley at home.”

After the angry confrontation last weekend, Pereira now must lead his side to a crucial win against Fulham, as his future could rely on it.

Fulham is a defining game for Vitor Pereira

The result in Fulham vs Wolves can and likely will define Vitor Pereira’s future.

The board are still convinced Pereira is the man for the job, but another defeat could drastically change perceptions.

Trust in the fanbase is already at an all-time low for the head coach, and if they continue their winless run, it seems impossible for that relationship to get repaired and for it to continue.

While fans are calling for the 57-year-old to be sacked, they would also love to see him turn things around if their wish does not come to fruition.

Pereira has been one of the most loved Wolves managers for quite some time, and it is disappointing that it has come to this.
