Nuno Espirito Santo has insisted Owen Otasowie remains an option for Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite him lacking game time in recent weeks.
The USA international made his first-team debut for the club back in December against Chelsea, but has since struggled for opportunities at Molineux.
The 20-year-old started the following game against Burnley, but was then handed a couple of cameos.
His last appearance came against Brighton, with him missing a header from point-black range right at the death at the Amex Stadium, which had he converted would have given Wolves the win.
Speaking about the youngster, Nuno has said (via Shropshire Star): “He had, some time ago, a problem that saw him miss some parts of training sessions for a period.
“But now, he’s doing well and he’s an option for us.
“We know how he talented is, while there are still things he has to improve.”
It has felt strange that Otasowie hasn’t featured since Brighton, especially the FA Cup games.
Nuno says he had a problem, but he has made every single matchday squad since Brighton, suggesting he could maybe have gotten some minutes somewhere.
The manager is known for managing young players carefully though, and hopefully the minutes will eventually start to come for the talented Otasowie.
On social media, some Wanderers fans have called for Nuno to start playing him more:
Don’t think Nuno must highly-regard and rate him if he never play’s him, i really wanna see more of the lad, and not even playing him the F.A Cup against Southampton, when he played that shocking front three, is plainly ridiculous.

This guy should be starting games as an attacking midfielder. Neves and Moutinho are too similar (defensive) and as a result we don’t have that extra bite and creativity in attack. Otasowie should play more games

Should definitely be getting some game time, he looks like the powerful player we need so can’t understand why he isn’t getting any.

Wouldn’t be considering, they should be starting him, he’s a physical presence that we lack In the midfield.

It’s very surprising we haven’t seen him since the Brighton match. Hope all is well for the lad.
