Wolverhampton Wanderers star Daniel Podence has taken to Instagram to inform supporters of a new injury problem.
The forward will not be involved in today’s game against Leicester City, and is facing weeks on the sidelines with an adductor issue.
Podence had only just returned for Nuno Espirito Santo, featuring in games against Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
But the 25-year-old is now set for more time out of action.
He wrote on Instagram: “Unfortunately injuries are following me these times… now in the adductor.
“I will recover very well and return at 150%. Always happy because I have more reasons to smile than cry. And supporting my team in the next 5/6 weeks. Thank you for supporting me.”
It is a bitter blow for Wolves with Podence having had a great season on a personal level.
The star, who signed from Olympiacos in January 2020, has often been a big threat for Wolves, and has three goals and one assist so far this season.
The £60,000-a-week star’s (Spotrac) absence will likely mean Adama Traore’s place in the starting XI now becomes more nailed on.
On social media, some Wolves fans have been expressing their hurt about Podence’s injury bombshell:
Oh brilliant my word this team and injury’s this season. 🤬

Potentially a blessing in disguise, Vitinhas opportunity to shine. We need it to work with him as back to square one with eventual Moutinho replacement. I remember Porto being devastated to lose him. Maybe Nuno will go with Donk though so more of a 433’than 4231

The small squad model needs to be reassessed. We need more depth.
