Wolves ran out 2-1 winners against Arsenal in the Premier League last night to move up to sixth in the table.

The team produced an absolutely brilliant performance under difficult circumstances to take three points against the Gunners in north London.

It was a display full of heart from Wolves, with the players rallying after seeing their teammate and friend Raul Jimenez fall victim to an awful head injury early in the match.

It has transpired this morning that the Mexican has suffered a fractured skull, and he is to be kept under observation at a London hospital.

Seeing Jimenez lying motionless for such a long time could easily have had a negative impact on the Wolves players, but they all stepped up and got the result for the 29-year-old.

There were brilliant performances throughout the team, with goalscorers Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence arguably the stars of the show.

But one man who probably went a bit under the radar yesterday was £1.78 million signing Fernando Marcal (BBC Sport), who was solid for the visitors at left-back.

The Brazilian – preferred to Rayan Ait-Nouri – was starting only his third game, but easily contained Willian and then Reiss Nelson.

On social media, while Neto, Podence and co were heavily praised, the South American was also commended by a few fans for his contributions:
