Sky Sports News drop ominous update on Matheus Cunha live on air

Wolves fans are now growing increasingly concerned about Matheus Cunha – and there has just been an ominous update about the Brazilian on Sky Sports News.

Cunha’s immediate future is up in the air after talks with Wolves over a new contract stalled.

Cunha’s agent has been making noise after Wolves thought they had a verbal agreement with the player to extend at Molineux.

The Brazilian has been the subject of interest for several clubs for a while now, given his superb form both this season and last.

And seemingly, interest mounting up may well have turned his head.

Wolves fans thought Cunha looked disinterested against Chelsea on Monday, with some fearing a bid had been lodged.

The coming days will be very interesting. But this morning, an ominous update was offered by Sky Sports News.

It was reported late last night that Nottingham Forest have entered the race to sign Cunha, who also has the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on his tail.

Wolves reportedly value Cunha around the £80 million mark.

But if the player starts to agitate for a move, Wanderers officials may well have no choice but the lower their valuation.

This morning on Sky Sports News, an update was given about Cunha – and it was ominous to say the least.

“A little bit of news just in to us. Nottingham Forest, we understand, are among the clubs considering a move for Cunha. We also understand that it is unlikely that he’ll sign a new contract at Molineux.”

This will come as a big blow, with fans have been told that there was a verbal agreement a couple of weeks ago.

Wolves told Cunha they didn’t want to put a relegation release clause into a proposed new deal, and that he’d be sold without one if they did go down.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons Cunha is now unlikely to sign.

Cunha Wolves exit becoming more likely

There is now a very ominous feel to this situation with Cunha.

Only a couple of weeks ago, it looked like everything was positive and that he was going to be signing on the dotted line.

But there have been a few poor results, and seemingly he is now not going to extend.

If he isn’t going to extend, then him leaving in this window does feel a distinct possibility, because Wolves will know that his value – and the level of interest in him – likely won’t ever be so high.

We may be mid-season, but you would not put it past Fosun to sanction his sale – even if it would seriously jeopardise the club’s Premier League status.
