The summer of 2024 is action-packed with football throughout the next two months. Two of the biggest competitions in the sport are set to get underway in June starting with the European Championships before being followed by Copa America a few weeks later.
Wolves have plenty of players representing the club in these tournaments. Five of the Old Gold’s squad were rewarded for their form in the 2023/24 campaign with a place in their national team.
This will now give many of the players a chance to showcase their talents on one of the biggest stages in the world and potentially return with a trophy.

Jose Sa, Pedro Neto, Nelson Semedo – Portugal

The only players representing Wolves at the 2024 Euros are all from Portugal. The trio managed to make the final squad with Pedro Neto returning to fitness just in time for the tournament.
The 2016 champions are in Group F and face Turkey, Czechia and Georgia. Portugal are the favourites to progress to the knockouts and could easily win the entire competition.

Jamaica – Dexter Lembikisa

The first Wolves player participating in the Copa Amercia is Dexter Lembikisa. The right-back spent 2024 out on loan to Scottish side Hearts after an unsuccessful spell at Rotherham. Here, the Jamaican shone as the Jam Tarts comfortably finished third.
Now, Lembikisa will be looking to repeat his heroics from the CONCACAF Nations League and progress through Group B. However, he will need to get past Mexico, Ecuador and Venezuela for this to happen.

Joao Gomes – Brazil

The final player representing Wolves this summer is Joao Gomes. The midfielder enjoyed a highly successful 2023/24 campaign under Gary O’Neil as the club comfortably finished mid-table.
As a result of his form, Gomes was rewarded with his first Brazil cap in March 2024, starting against England in a 1-0 win. Now, the midfielder has the chance to add to his collection at the Copa America.
Brazil has been placed in Group D alongside Costa Rica, Colombia and Paraguay and are considered one of the favourites to win the tournament.
