Wolves could lose up to six major players in 2025 if the club cannot agree on a new contract with its stars.
Contracts have been the bain of Wolves over the past few transfer windows. The club have lost multiple of their star players for little to nothing as the two parties could not agree on a deal.
Last summer saw this at its most prominent. Long-term stars Joao Moutinho and Adama Traore left Wolves for nothing with the latter now performing in the Premier League for Fulham.
Now, there is a danger that this could repeat itself. Wolves currently have six first-team players who are going into the last year of their contract.
Below Molineux News has listed each one and what the current situation regarding their extensions is.
Nelson Semedo

Arguably the most valuable player who Wolves could lose. Nelson Semedo was one of the club’s best players during the 2023/24 campaign. As a result of the full-back’s form, he won the Player’s Player of the Season Award.
Since signing for the club from Barcelona, Semedo has not signed a new deal at Wolves. The club almost lost the Portuguese international last summer but a two-year optional extension was activated.
No new deal has yet been proposed. It was rumoured that Semedo could go to Saudi Arabia this summer given the situation but these claims have since died down.
Daniel Podence

One player who may not make it until the end of his contract is Daniel Podence. The winger has been linked away from Molineux all summer with Olympiacos pursuing a permanent deal.
It is believed that Gary O’Neil is open to keeping the winger and he played in the behind-closed-doors friendly against Como.
If the Wolves manager does manage to convince Podence to stay at the club, he will have to sort his contract situation out quickly or risk losing him against next summer.
Mario Lemina

Wolves’ potential next captain could well depart next summer. Mario Lemina has not signed a new contract since he joined the club in January 2023.
The midfielder has become a star player under O’Neil and was central to many unforgettable moments in the 2023/24 campaign.
As it stands, Lemina will be without a club next summer. However, Wolves do have the option to extend his contract by a year but this is yet to be triggered.
Pablo Sarabia

Alongside Lemina, Pablo Sarabia was also brought into the club in January 2023. Despite a rocky start in Old Gold, the Spaniard has now become a regular in the Wolves starting XI.
With Sarabia set to become 33 years old late next season, it seems unlikely that Wolves will look to extend his stay.
Turkish sides were rumoured to be interested in signing Sarabia but nothing has come about yet.
Daniel Bentley

Wolves’ back-up goalkeeper has been under plenty of speculation so far this summer. Despite playing few games in the last campaign, Arsenal are looking to sign Dan Bentley.
However, if an agreement cannot be reached with the Gunners, the goalkeeper could potentially move to the capital for free next summer.
Wolves do have the option to extend his stay for another two years but this has not been activated yet.
Craig Dawson

Another contender to be the Wolves captain for the upcoming season, Craig Dawson has been vital since he joined the club.
The defender has kept the backline in check and helped keep the club in the division in the 2022/23 campaign. When Dawson got injured in 2024, it showed how important he was to the team as the defence collapsed in the latter half of last season.
With the centre-back set to become 35 years old next season, it is unknown if he will be given an extension.
