Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is reportedly a transfer target for Wolves and West Ham.
Fosun haven’t made a firm bid for the Brazilian-born striker but they are interested in his services according to the Mirror.
If Wolves end up with a Costa even worse than Helder, then Fosun will have made the worst transfer signing.
Why Diego Costa would be a terrible signing for Wolves
Despite the delusional Sam Allardyce thinking Diego Costa is a magnificent player who would even suit Manchester United (Daily Star), the Spanish international would no doubt be an appalling signing for Wolves.
Nuno Espirito Santo needs a bullish striker to bully defenders and provide back-up to Raul Jimenez, but there are superior alternatives to Costa.
Costa was fantastic for Chelsea with 52 goals and 18 assists in 89 Premier League appearances. His record at Atletico Madrid isn’t too shabby either with 66 goals and 34 assists in 175 La Liga matches.
But, since falling out with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, the striker has become nothing more than an overweight prima-donna.
He missed 22 La Liga matches last season for Atletico thanks to several injuries and a seven-match red card suspension. That means he appeared in just 16 matches for which he only scored and assisted twice.
As if the above wasn’t off-putting enough, his red card suspension was for yelling at a referee, “I s**t on your whore mother!” The striker is past his prime and Wolves don’t need a diva that will spoil their reputation for flair.
Wolves miraculous success is largely because they have an excellent manager and group of players who don’t have any egos. Landing Costa’s signature will undo all of Nuno’s hard work.
